Seattle Seawolves David Busby 2022 Profile

The Seattle Seawolves re-signed David Busby for the 2022 Major League Rugby season, his third with the team. The 27-year-old (28 in Feb.) wing/center/fullback is 6’0″ and 200lbs.

David was injured during the preseason and did not see any regular-season playing time in 2021.

During the COVID-19 shortened MLR 2020 season, David played 325 minutes in all five matches, starting twice each at left-wing and at outside center. In November, he played in the World Tens Series with the London Royals.

David is from Portadown, Northern Ireland, and attended Portadown College and Queen’s University.

In 2011 he joined Ulster’s U20 Academy and won the Interprovincial Championship in 2012. He then moved to Australia for a year and played for Brother’s Rugby Club. He returned home to attend Queen’s University and played for the Ireland U20s in the age-grade Six Nations.

David played for Ulster in the PRO 14 competition, the Ireland Sevens Team in several tournaments in 2016-2017, including the Exeter Super Sevens Series. In 2019 he helped Ballynahinch win the All Ireland League Division 1B Championship, which earned the team promotion for 2019-2020.
