The Dallas Jackals added Dylan James for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 23-year-old scrumhalf is 5’10” and 180 lbs.
Dylan played with Santa Monica RFC, the LA Giltinis Academy, and played 12 minutes in one match for the LA Giltinis in 2021
Dylan is from Santa Monica, California, and attended Santa Monica Catholic High School. He played football in high school and rugby with Santa Monica Rugby Football Club.
Dylan played representative rugby with the SoCal Griffins in 2015-2016 and at the NAI Sevens with the Atavus All-Stars Boys in 2016. In 2017 he played with the Santa Monica Dolphins and the USA Club Sevens Nationals. He still competes with them during the off-season.
He also has played rugby at the University of Utah for two years before joining the Utah Selects and in 2021 joined the LA Giltinis Academy, prior to his call up to the MLR squad later in the season.
“In his free time, James likes to surf and golf. Even more on the adventures side, he recently finished Stuntman school.”
Dallas Jackals Comments
“I’m really excited to play with some familiar faces (old teammates), against all the other teams, and to play in the huge Choctaw Stadium,” James said.
When asked about Texas, James said he looks forward to trying the BBQ, commenting, “I’ve heard it’s amazing.”
Jackals GM Elaine Vassie said, “Dylan’s an exciting young American player who’s evasive and brings a fast tempo and desire to keep the ball alive. Without the ball, he certainly fits the attack to get the ball back mindset and punches well above his weight!”
Welcome to the Pack Dylan!
