LA Giltinis signs Sean O’Brien

LA Giltinis signed Irish American Sean O’Brien for the remainder of the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 20-year-old back row (21 end of July) is 6’4”and 220 lbs.

Sean was born in Pittsburgh, PA, but grew up in Ireland. He began playing rugby at age 6 with Greystones RFC through the U14s. He attended Blackrock College and played rugby for their Junior and Senior Cup teams.

Sean played for Ireland’s U19s and earned three caps for the U20s. He joined the Leinster Rugby Academy, has played for Leinster A, and made his debut for the Guinness PRO14 side as a reserve against Zebre Rugby Club on March 3, 2021. His second cap came two weeks later against the Osprey.

Sean has also played club rugby in the All Ireland League with UCD where he is an Economics and Finance major.

Sean has been included in the LA Giltinis week 15 roster as a reserve against the Seattle Seawolves.
