Austin Gilgronis added Australian Lachlan McCaffrey for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 31-year-old No.8/flanker is 6’4″ and 238 lbs.
Lachlan is from Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. He attended Saint Ignatius College, Riverview from 2002-2007 and played rugby. He also graduated from Swinburne University where he attended from 2010-2014, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Marketing.
Locky played for Eastwood in the Shute Shield. In 2010 he played for the Australia U20s in the IRB Junior World Championship. From 2008-2011 he was part of the NSW Waratahs and played one Super Rugby match with the team. He played in 7 matches with Western Force in 2012-2013, before becoming part of the Brumbies Extended squad in 2013. In 2014-15 he played in 8 Super Rugby matches with the Brumbies and scored one try.
In 2015 he left Australia to play with the London Welsh, making 17 appearances and scoring one try. From 2015-2017 he played in the English Premiership with Leicester Tigers, making 47 appearances and scoring five tries.
Since 2018 he returned to the Brumbies, playing through the 2020 season. He also played for Kyuden Voltex in Japan during 2019-2020.
