San Diego Legion Adds Thomas Morani

San Diego Legion added Thomas Morani for the remainder of the 2021 Major League Rugby season. Thomas initially re-signed for the 2021 MLR season with the Houston SaberCats but was loaned to Old Glory DC from the Houston SaberCats before playing last week for the Legion. The 25-year-old center is 5’9″ and 195 lbs.

Thomas joined the Houston SaberCats in 2020 and played 110 minutes in his two starts. he was re-signed by the team but did not play in any regular-season matches before being released from his contract. This made him available to Old Glory DC, who needed a center due to team injuries.

Thomas is from Miami, Florida, and grew up in Buenas Aires, Argentina. He played Top 12 team outside center for CUBA (the Club University of Buenas Aires) at least since 2016. He also attended the University’s Business and Social Sciences since 2016 and projects to graduate in 2022.

He played rugby with CUBA with former SaberCats teammate Nicolás Solveyra, a prop, and Tomas De La Vega, a flanker, who plays for the Toronto Arrows.
