San Diego Legion added Ethan McVeigh for the remainder of the Major League Rugby season. The 21-year-old scrumhalf is 5’9″ and 195 lbs.
Ethan grew up in San Carlos, California, a San Diego suburb. He began playing rugby with the OMBAC (Old Mission Beach Athletic Club) Wallabies around age 9, and also was a San Carlos Little League All-Star in 2010.
Ethan attended St. Augustine High School and helped the rugby team with the Southern California Red Division with a 9-2 record in 2018. This gained the team the number 1 seed for the playoffs. The team advanced to the final losing to Bosco.
Ethan attended numerous EIRA camps and was selected for the 2017 Boys High School All-Americans. He toured with the team in beating British Columbia in two matches and went to France with the team to play in Rugby Europe’s U18s European Championship.
in 2018 he was honored with the Mark Loane Award for the High School Player of the Year.

Ethan attended many Nike Rugby Camps in San Diego and in 2018 was selected for the USA U20s in the World Rugby Trophy Qualifier against Canada. He also attended Cardiff Metropolitan University since 2018 and played with Cardiff met RFC. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Business and Management.
