The New England Free Jacks added Jared Collinson for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 30-year-old fullback/center (31 in May) is 5’10” and 205 lbs.
Jared played for the Free Jacks, during their 2019 exhibition season, and was the team’s strength and conditioning coach in 2020. The longtime Mystic River player also played for the New England Independents in 2020.
Jared is from Sandwich, Massachusetts, and attended Sandwich High School. He played soccer in high school and graduated in 2008. He went to Springfield College from 2008-2012, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Exercise Science. He began playing rugby his freshman year and has been a standout player for the past 13 years.
He played for the Northeast Academy at the Barbados World Sevens in 2016 and has spent many summers involved in rugby sevens at the USA Club Nationals.
Jared has worked in physical therapy clinics, strength and conditioning facilities, and sports clubs. he is the owner and strength and conditioning coach at Flight Performance & Fitness.
When he is not involved at work or with rugby, he enjoys hiking and spending time with his wife Kristen.
