Rugby United New York (RUNY), New York City’s professional rugby franchise, announced today that Bolton Equities, the team’s majority shareholder has reached an agreement under which French entrepreneur Thomas Savare will acquire a minority stake of the organization. Bolton Equities will continue with majority ownership.
Thomas Savare, President, François-Charles Oberthur Group started his career in New York as Vice-President of the Banknote Corporation of America in 1992. After holding various operating positions in François-Charles Oberthur Group, specialized in high security and banknote printing, he became President in 2014. He was president of Stade Français Paris between 2011 and 2017, and a member of The Comité Directeur of LNR (French National Rugby League) between 2015 and 2021. Under his tenure, Stade Français Paris won a Top 14 title in 2015 and a European Challenge Cup title in 2017.
