Rugby ATL Adds Luke Schlotman

Rugby ATL added Luke Schlotman for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 33-year-old tighthead prop (34 in June) is 6’0″ and 255 lbs.

Luke is from Petersborough, New Hampshire, and attended Souhegan High School from 2001-2005. He played football and helped lead the team to the school’s first Division III football championship in 2004, scoring three touchdowns in the team’s win over Milford High School.

Luke attended Plymouth State University from 2005-2009, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Health and Fitness. He played both football and rugby, winning a Division III National Championship in rugby.

Following his graduation from Plymouth State, he played rugby with Mystic River RFC  from 2010-2018 and in 2016 won the USA Rugby Club Division 1 National Championship. During this time he worked in the fitness industry as a manager and master trainer.

Luke moved to Georgia to attend Life University to attend graduate school in the Doctorate of Chiropractic Studies Program. He has played with Life Men’s Rugby Club since 2018, winning the USA Rugby Club Division 1 Championship in 2019 and the Elite Cup in 2020.

Luke brings 17 years of playing rugby to Rugby ATL and will play professionally in 2021. He played in the team’s 2021 silver and black preseason match and looks forward to the start of the regular season this weekend.
