Toronto Arrows Adds Chris Atkinson

The Toronto Arrows added Chris Atkinson for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 23-year-old tighthead prop is 6’0″ and 275 lbs.

Chris was born in Cloverdale, Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. He attended Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary from 2010 through his graduation in 2015. While there, he played football as a guard and defensive tackle, and rugby.

Chris played rugby with the Surrey Beavers before joining Burnaby Lake to play in the British Columbia Premier League.

In 2020-2021 he was part of Rugby Canada’s residential Men’s Development Academy at the Al Charron National Training Centre and played for the Pacific Pride in the BC Premier League. He also was invited to Rugby Canada’s senior men’s three-week training camp in November.

Toronto Arrows Comments

The Toronto Arrows are pleased to announce the signings of Chris Atkinson and Mason Flesch out of the Rugby Canada National Development Academy.

Atkinson, 23, recently entered his first year as part of the Pacific Pride program. At 5’10” and 265lbs, the Surrey, British Columbia native will shore up the squad’s depth across the front row.

“Chris is a tough young prop who gives us depth and potential to develop in the front row, and is ramping up fast in camp.”

The Arrows will begin their third campaign in North America’s top-flight professional rugby league with a road match against the Rugby ATL on Saturday, Mar. 20, 2021.
