Delta Air Lines Named Official Airline of New England Free Jacks

New England Free Jacks Release

The New England Free Jacks announced today a renewed partnership with Delta Air Lines for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. Delta becomes the Official Air Line of the New England Free Jacks and the announcement builds on the marketing and business partnership established with Delta Air Lines during the shortened 2020 Major League Rugby season.

Delta will serve as the presenting sponsor of the Free Jacks Lantern Suite Pods, the exclusive sideline hospitality suites at Union Point Stadium, where the Free Jacks will host their eight regular season home matches. Delta will also extend their partnership of the franchise’s rugby academy, aimed at developing the sport of rugby and increasing access to the sport across New England.

“Delta’s mission to unite people, with who and what they love, while providing a best-in-class experience aligns with our values and reaffirms our commitment to creating world-class entertainment and hospitality-focused events for fans,” said Free Jacks Co-Founder and CEO, Alex Magleby. “Delta has managed the unprecedented hardships in the airline industry through 2020 by showing their commitment to the health and safety and the experiences of travelers and staff. We are excited about this collaborative partnership with Delta to bring top-flight experiences to our fans both on and off the ground.”

Delta has put in place more than 100 protective measures to ensure a safe travel experience for customers and employees through the Delta CareStandard, including regularly sanitizing high-touch surfaces and changing high-grade HEPA air filters on aircraft twice as often as recommended. Delta is also the only U.S. airline blocking middle seats and limiting capacity through April 30, 2021, to provide more space and extra peace of mind when flying.

In 2019, Delta was Boston’s fastest-growing carrier by daily departures and the airline remains committed to its newest hub as it rebuilds its global network and welcomes more customers back on board. This spring, Delta will resume nonstop service from Logan International Airport to Miami on March 2, and Las Vegas on April 1.Currently, Delta operates 44 peak-day daily departures to 22 destinations, including service to Amsterdam.

“Boston is a key trans-Atlantic gateway to Europe and as demand increases, we’re looking forward to restoring more service to places like Dublin, where rugby is a major part of life,” said Charlie Schewe, Director of New England Sales at Delta. “While we’ll continue to prioritize the health and safety of everyone on board, customers can trust in Delta’s award-winning hospitality and industry-leading reliability that continues to set us apart.”

The Free Jacks begin their 2021 Major League Rugby campaign on March 20th in Los Angeles. The New England-based professional rugby team will play its home opener at Union Point Stadium in Weymouth, Mass., on April 3rd against the Utah Warriors.

The Delta Air Lines Lantern Suite Pods at Union Point Stadium offers the principal hospitality experience at Free Jacks matches. The exclusive sideline suites are located along the western touchline and provide fans the ultimate game day experience with seats closest to the match-day action. Suite owners receive exclusive access and amenities for 12 guests. For ticket information and pricing, contact ticketing@freejacks.com.
