Austin Gilgronis signed Caleb Strum for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 23-year-old wing (24 in April) is 6’3″ and 190lbs. He played with the Austin Gilgronis Academy Team, the Outlaws, this Fall, and during the 2022 MLR preseason. It is unclear whether he will begin the season on an Academy or an MLR contract.
Caleb is from Warrenton, Virginia, and attended Fauquier High School, where he was on the wrestling team from 2014 to 2016. He attended the University of Alabama from 2016 to 2020. He was SEC All-Conference from 2016-to 2019 and helped the team win. the 2016 SCRC title.
In 2021, he played in the USA Club Sevens Nationals with NOVA Rugby and in the Tropical Sevens with the U23 Men. he also played in the inaugural professional sevens league in the U.S., the Premier Rugby Sevens on October 9 in Memphis, Tennessee.
