San Diego Legion added southern California native, Dominick Iacovino, for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The team’s 2021 MLR Collegiate Craft Round 3, Pick 31, has been training with the team and no announcement has been made if he is a development or MLR contracted player.
The 22-year-old wing/fullback is 5’11” ad 210lbs, and he played in last Friday’s scrimmage against Austin Gilgronis.
Dominick is from Oceanside, California, and attended Oceanside High School where he played football as a wide receiver and rugby. He also played for the Rhinos Rugby Academy.
He attended Grand Canyon University from 2017-to 2021, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Marketing. He played fullback at the university and in 2018 attended the USA Junior All-American Camp.
Dominick is looking forward to playing with the Legion in 2022 and hopes it is on an MLR contract.
