Update: “Fa’alelei has opted out of the 2022 season for family and personal reasons, and the organization respects his decision and wishes him all the best,” said Mark Winokur, Toronto Arrows Chief Operating Officer, and General Manager. “We hope to see him in Arrows blue and white in the future.”
The Toronto Arrows signed Fa’alelei Sione for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 25-year-old prop (26 in February) is 6’0″ and 275 lbs.
Fa’alelei is from Canberra, Australia, and attended Calwell High School. He also went to the University of Canberra.
He played club rugby with Royals Rugby Club in the Canberra John I Dent rugby union competition and played with the Australian U20s at the 2016 World Rugby Under-20 Championship.
Fa’alelei made 8 appearances with the Super Rugby Brumbies in 2017 and 2018. He played 20 times with Manawatu with another Arrow, Sam Malcolm, in the National Provincial Championship with the Turbos.
He joins the Arrows from the Australian side Eastern Suburbs, where he made 16 appearances over the previous two seasons in New South Wales’ Shute Shield.
