Houston SaberCats Re-Signs Adrian Booysen

The Houston SaberCats re-signed Jan Adriaan Booysen for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 24-year-old back-row (25 in May) is 6’3″ and 240 lbs.

Adriaan played in all five matches during the COVID-19 shortened season, starting four times at No.8.

Adriaan is from Gobabis, Namibia, a city in the eastern portion of the country. He attended Privaatskool Etnatan in Stampriet, Namibia, and then studied law at the University of the Free State in South Africa.

In 2016-2017, Adriaan played rugby with the Wanderers Rugby Club and since 2017 with the Welwitschias in the Supersport Rugby Challenge.

Adriaan has seven caps for Namibia and made his debut for the National Team against Senegal on 8 July 2017, scoring a try. He played in the 2019 Rugby World Cup against South Africa and his last match was against New Zealand on 6 October.
