Utah Warriors Signs Danny Giannascoli

The Utah Warriors signed Danny Giannascoli, who was selected as the 15th pick of the second round of the Major League Rugby Draft. The 23-year-old flyhalf/fullback (24 in April) is 6’2″ and 200 lbs. Danny played with the Warriors Selects in Fall 2020.

Danny is from Malvern, Pennsylvania, and attended Malvern Prep High School. During his senior year, he played football for the Friars and was also introduced to rugby that year. Previously he also played soccer.

Danny attended Loyola University Maryland from 2015-2019 earning a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Finance. He also enrolled in the Master’s Degree Business Administration Program from 2019-2020.

At Loyola, he played rugby and was a four-time All-Potomac Conference first-team selection (2016-19), a two-time NSCRO All-American and Mid Atlantic South MVP, the 2018 and 2019 team captain, 2019 Collegiate Sevens All-American, 2019 Club Sevens Nationals Dream Team selection with Schuylkill River, and the 2019 Rugby Barbados World Sevens Champion and Freetail 7s in Austin, Texas with Atlantis. He also played at the 2019 Rugbytown 7s with the Collegiate All-Americans

Danny will now develop as a rugby player with the Utah Warriors.
