San Diego Legion re-signed Luatangi Li, who was a late addition to the team in 2020 and did not play during the 2020 Major League Rugby season. In 2021, however, the 29-year-old prop (30 in May) who is 5’11” and 265 lbs should play an important role with the team.
Lua, as he prefers to be called, is from Auckland, New Zealand. He attended Massey High School and was a member of the New Zealand police force. He played club rugby for the East Coast Boys and Mitre 10 Cup since 2018 with North Harbour. He also played for the Super Rugby Blues club in 2019, making 4 appearances.
Adding an experienced prop who can play both loosehead and tighthead provides a team with flexibility during matches. His leadership should make the Legion an even stronger team.
