The Houston SaberCats re-signed Nicolás von Glasberg Chaet Solverya for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 25-year-old loosehead prop (26 in March) is 6’1″ and 243 lbs.
Nicolás played in all five matches for the SaberCats during the truncated 2020 MLR season, starting once at loosehead prop, but in his other four reserve appearances, he also played a match at tighthead.
Nicolás attended San Felipe School and played club rugby for CUBA in the URBA since 2016. He played for Argentina XV since 2016 in the Americas Rugby Championship and in the 2018 Nations Cup. He also played in the Americas Pacific Challenge.
In 2019 he played for the Jaguares XV in the Currie Cup First Division and elected to sign with the Houston SaberCats in MLR rather than signing with Súper Liga Americana de Rugby. He is another key front-row player for the team, which continues to be among the MLR’s best scrummaging teams.
