Houston SaberCats Re-Signs Diego Fortuny

The Houston SaberCats re-signed Diego Fortuny for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 29-year-old hooker is 5’9” and 235 lbs.

During the 2020 MLR season, Diego played in all five matches, starting four and scoring one try.

Diego is from Salta, Argentina. He attended the Catholic University of Salta beginning in 2015 and played with Universitario de Salta First XV.

He played with Argentina XV in the Americas Rugby Championship since 2016 and also played with the team in the 2018 & 2019 Nations Cup.

Diego was signed to the Super Rugby Jaguares team in 2018 and played in one match against the Stormers in Cape Town. He also played once for Argentina against South Africa in the Rugby Championship on August 18 that year.

Diego is a seasoned veteran and helped the SaberCats continue their strong performances in the scrums.
