The Houston SaberCats signed Moa Maliepo for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 24-year-old center (25 in May) is 6’1″ and 211 lbs.
Moa was born in New Zealand and played rugby for Parramatta Two Blues before transferring to CSM București in 2015 through 2019 after the Two Blues dissolved. He made 24 appearances with the Romanian Club and scored six tries. The team won the Romanian Cup in 2018 and 2019. His time in Romania qualified him for the Romanian National Team based on residency.
Moa made his debut as a reserve for the Oaks against Spain at Botoşani on February 22, 2020, and started at the outside center against Russia at Krasnodar on March 7, 2020.
In 2019-2020 he played with the Timișoara Saracens in the CEC Bank SuperLiga, the first division of Romanian rugby.
