Rugby United New York Adds Wilton Rebolo

Rugby United New York added Wilton Rebolo for the 2021Major League Rugby season. The 25-year-old hooker/prop is 6’0″ and 280 lbs.

Wilton played for the Austin Herd during the 2020 pre-season, however, an injury derailed his inclusion for the Gilgroins during the truncated regular season.

Wilton José Murilo Rebolo or Nelson, as he is often called, was born in São Jose dos Campos, Brazil and played club rugby for São José, Band Saracens, the Bandeirantes Rugby Club, and Pasteur Athletique. He played for the Brazil National Team, the Tupis, in 29 matches, 21 as a starter in the front row at loosehead prop, tighthead prop, and at hooker.

He made his test debut against Germany at Blumenau on November 28, 2015, and his last of his 29 tests were against the Barbarians in Montevideo on November 20, 2019.

Wilton attended the World Rugby Combine in Glendale, Colorado in October 2018 and played for the Rugby Americas Selects against the Glendale Raptors.
