Dallas Jackals Adds Skyler Adams

The Dallas Jackals signed Skyler Adams for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 28-year-old prop is 6’1″ and 260 lbs.

Skyler played the opening match fas a reserve for the Austin Gilgronis in the 2020 Major League Rugby season.

Skyler is from Black Forest, Colorado, and attended Pine Creek High school from 2007-2011. He began playing rugby at age 16 with Colorado Grizzlies RFC. He was captain of the U17 Colorado Select team and played for Colorado All-Star U19s and won Colorado Rugby State Championships in 2010 and in 2011.

He attended Lindenwood University from 2011-2012 and then joined the Glendale Raptors Division 1 side while attending Pikes Peak Community College from 2012-2013.

He then transferred to American International College in 2013 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and History in 2017. While playing D1A Rugby at AIC, he was the team’s captain for three years from 2014-2016. He helped led the team to three East Coast Rugby Conference Championships and was selected for the East Coast Rugby Conference All-Conference team.

In 2017 Sky moved to Christchurch, New Zealand, and trained with the BNZ Crusaders International High-Performance Academy team, as well as playing with Marist Albion Rugby Club. In 2019 he played for New Brighton Rugby Club.

Dallas Jackals Comments

Skyler says he has had “an immense amount of help from coaches and mentors including Josh Macy, Rob Guiry, and Pete Lang, to name a few.” Skyler is excited to be a part of a new program and looks forward to working with Coach Clarke and Coach Vassie. He says, “There is something beautiful about a good old fashioned rivalry. Saying that, I long to bring home the Texas Cup where it belongs!” Welcome to the pack Skyler!
