Toronto Arrows Re-Signs Manuel Diana

The Toronto Arrows have re-signed Uruguay international No.8 Manuel Diana for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 24-year-old (25 in March) is 6’3″ and 225 lbs.

Manuel started all five matches in his debut season with the club, and led the team in both carries (59) and carry meters (286). He scored two tries, added 33 tackles (86.8% completion), five offloads, three tackle-breaks, and a linebreak.

Manuel attended Stella Maris College from 2002-2014 and the University of Montevideo from 2016-2019. He played for Uruguay in the World Rugby U20 Trophy in 2015, for Uruguay XV in the Nations Cup, and for Uruguay.

Manuel, Arrow #43m has earned 25 caps for Uruguay, and featured for his national team at the 2019 Rugby World Cup, scoring a key try for Los Teros in their win over Fiji. He made his Teros debut against Argentina XV on February 11, 2017, in the Americas Rugby Championship and the following week against Brazil. His last test was against Wales at Kumamoto on Oct 13, 2019, at the Rugby World Cup.

Manuel was also a standout for the Rugby Americas XV vs Glendale Raptors in October 2018. He plays club rugby for Old Christians in Montevideo.
