The Toronto Arrows signed Siaki Vikilani for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 19-year-old flanker, who turns 20 in August, is 6’3″ and 235 lbs.
Siaki is from Burnaby, British Columbia, and attended Burnaby Central and played rugby for the Wildcats. He played age-grade rugby for Canada for the U19s on their tour to Ireland in 2018. In 2019 he played for the U20s at the World Rugby Trophy competition in São José dos Campos, Brazil with the team finishing in 5th place.
He also played for the BC Bears against the Royal Air Force in the RAF Centenary Tour to Canada in 2019 and played for Vancouver Island Crimson Tide against the Seattle Seawolves. Last year he was a regular-starter for Rugby Canada’s Pacific Pride development program in the British Columbia Premiership.
He also played his grassroots rugby with Burnaby Lake.
Toronto Arrows Comments
Arrows Vice President and General Manager Mark Winokur said that “Siaki is a very promising young Canadian player who we have tracked during his time with the Pacific Pride. He brings physicality and athleticism, and even though he’s still in his teens, we project a big future for him and is a great example of the Canadian pathway at work.”
