SARC Release
The South Atlantic Rugby Conference (SARC) is pleased to announce its creation as a new competition for women’s collegiate rugby in the south. SARC establishes a new home for like-minded collegiate clubs looking for a National Championship structure of Fall 15’s and Spring 7s.
Steering the conference are Chris Martin (Lee University, TN), Marty Sarkees (Clemson University, SC), Alley Mitchell (Elon University, NC), and Buck Billings (Lander University, SC). These coaches will make up the working executive board and can be contacted by interested future members.
SARC’s goal is to unite similar-minded southern teams, to create divisions based on an appropriate level of competition, to resolve geographic challenges, and to provide a postseason pathway through National Collegiate Rugby’s Women’s Open Elite, Open, and Small School competitions.
Below listed are the founding teams:
University of Alabama Birmingham (AL)
University of North Carolina – Greensboro (NC)
