2020 Regional Cup Rugby Tournaments

USA Rugby Release By Chris Turner

LAFAYETTE, CO – USA Rugby’s Regional Cup Tournaments (RCTs) have been announced for 2020. The RCTs are the premier opportunity for student-athletes to meet collegiate rugby programs and participate in college recruitment and exposure. These tournaments feature college teams from the area and all over the country, looking to recruit their next class of rugby athletes.

Each RCT has two Divisions for both boys and girls, offering the opportunity for older, performing athletes to showcase their skills; as well as younger learning athletes to see what the next level of rugby looks like. All teams and athletes are welcome to participate in the Regional Cup Tournaments, reach out to your State Rugby Organization to learn what teams are available in your state.

In addition to collegiate scouts and admissions staff, USA Rugby All American selectors attend these events to view players and evaluate talent. The Regional Cup Tournaments are USA Rugby’s official pathway events into the  High School All-Americans and U20 programs, and a great opportunity to see how today’s high school athletes match up against the best of the best.

Kurt Weaver, VP of Rugby Operations at USA Rugby, had this statement regarding the upcoming opportunities,” The Regional Cup Tournaments are the best opportunity to meet athletes from around the country and showcase your rugby skills. We have built these events to make sure introductions can happen with college coaches, USA Rugby selectors and others in rugby,” explained Weaver. ‘With interest from MLR teams, colleges, and our national team coaches, we are excited to meet and watch the next generation of potential Eagles out on these fields”.
