The Utah Warriors signed Michael Payne for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. He is a tighthead prop, is 6’0″, and 245 lbs.
Michael is from Murrieta, California and attended Murrieta Valley High School. He played football as a defensive end and running back and also threw the shot put on the track and field team. He also was an Eagle Scout.
Michael attended Brigham Young University between 2013 and 2019, majoring in Exercise and Wellness. He played rugby for BYU from 2017-2019. During 2014 and 2015 he went on a mission with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Boise, Idaho.
