Old Glory DC Names David Potamianos Commercial Officer

Old Glory DC release

Old Glory DC is honored to announce that David Potamianos has been named Commercial Officer, marking the third full-time front office hire for the professional rugby team. As Commercial Officer, Potamianos will be responsible for developing business partnerships, increasing community involvement, and ticket sales.

Potamianos has spent the last 10 years in senior sales roles with sports venues and organizations such as Spectra, The Florida Panthers (NHL), IMG College as GM for The George Washington University Colonials Sports Marketing, and Legends Global Sales at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore. Most recently, Potamianos served as Director Corporate Partnerships at Oak View Group for the University of Maryland Baltimore County and UMBC Event Center.

On his new role with Old Glory DC, David Potamianos said, “I’m honored and excited to join Old Glory D.C. as Commercial Officer. Rarely do you have an opportunity to help build a brand new sports organization! I believe Old Glory will bring world-class rugby and great family entertainment to the DC area community fans and businesses.”

“A new professional sports team can only flourish and survive long-term if it builds a revenue base with strong, mutually beneficial relationships with both corporate partners and individual ticket-buyers,” said Old Glory Chairman Chris Dunlavey. “David has a long track record of achieving exactly those goals here in the greater DC market for years. He’ll bring local market connections and a national perspective on sports business that will strengthen the rugby focus of Old Glory.”

Prior to his sports career, Potamianos had spent 12 years in human resources management and recruiting. Outside of work, David enjoys fitness, mountain biking, playing with his two dogs and is engaged to his fiancée Christina who plans to make their home in the DC area.
