Austin Herd Signs Enele Malele

Austin Herd signed of Fijian Warrior, Enele Malele for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. The 29-year-old fullback/fly-half is 6’2″ and 196 lbs.

Enele is from Suva, Fiji and attended Suva Grammar School and played rugby from 2005-2008. He played Touch rugby as a youth and his older siblings represented Fiji in the South Pacific Games and World Games in Australia and New Zealand.

When he turned 20, he joined Fiji Police Rugby and played in the Sukuna Bowl, an annual rugby fixture between the Fiji Police Force and Fiji Military Force. He then played for Breakthrough Rugby in the Suva Club Premiership with the team advancing to the Skipper Cup Championship.

He had a breakout year in 2018 when he represented Fiji Tuwawa at the Brisbane Global 10’s. he also played for the Swire Shipping Fiji Warriors with the team winning the 2018 Pacific Rugby Cup. He played in a winning World Series Rugby match against the Western Force in Perth. The team also traveled to Uruguay to play in the Nations Trophy.

Enele then joined the Swire Shipping Fijian Latui, Fiji’s newest franchise team, and played in the Global Rapid Rugby Pacific Showcase and represented Fijian Dura in the National Rugby Championship since 2018.
