2019 Rugby World Cup: Georgia vs Uruguay

Georgia faces Uruguay in a  Pool D match at Kumagaya Rugby Stadium, Saitama Prefecture, Kumagaya City on September 29. Kickoff is at 14:15 local (1:15 ET). The match may be viewed in the U.S. on NBC Sports Gold on-demand as part of an RWC subscription package.

in both team’s opening matches, Wales defeated Georgia 43-14, while Uruguay beat Fiji 30-27.

Georgia Head Coach Milton Haig has made 12 changes in the starting lineup with only lock Konstantine Mikautadze, flyhalf Tedo Abzhandadze, and Giorgi Kveseladze being retained from their loss. Kveseladze switches from wing to outside center.

Merab Sharikadze, who is the team’s regular captain, is a reserve as he returns from injury. Former captain Mamuka Gorgodze and No. 8 Beka Gorgadze will also contribute from the reserves as needed.

Uruguay Head Coach Estevan Meneses has made minimal changes to their starters with Juan Pedro Rombys at tighthead prop and Alejandro Nieto at No.8. The backs remain unchanged.

Diego Magno, Uruguay’s most capped player, will see his first RWC action in 2019 and is one of six forwards selected as reserves with the match expected to be a physical one.
