2020 Major League Rugby Season Schedule

Major League Rugby announced their 2020 schedule earlier today. There are twelve teams in the league this year with six teams divided into Eastern and Western Conferences. Each team will play home and away matches with their Conference opponents and play six matches against the other Conference, three home and three away.

The 2020 MLR season is already shaping up to be an exciting one with the New England Free Jacks, Old Glory DC, and Rugby ATL joining other Eastern Conference teams Rugby United New York, the Toronto Arrows, and NOLA Gold. Both Rugby United New York and the Toronto Arrows advanced to the playoffs in 2019, while NOLA Gold just missed the final spot.

In the Western Conference is two-time defending Champion Seattle Seawolves, who will meet San Diego on February 9 in a repeat of last year’s final. They are joined by Austin Herd, the Glendale Raptors, Houston SaberCats, and the Utah Warriors.

Major League Rugby begins play for 2020 on February 8, with six matches that weekend. To view the MLR schedule, click here.

The Playoff schedule is different this year with the second and third teams in each Conference meeting to determine who will face the number one team in the Conference in the playoffs. The winner of that match will play the other Conference Champion in the MLR Final.
