International Wheelchair Rugby Federation Release
The IWRF 2019 Wheelchair Rugby Americas Championship will take place August 23-27 in Lima, Peru as part of the Lima 2019 Para Pan American Games.
This tournament will feature six counties with only the top finisher qualifying for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. Not only is there a lot of pressure to finish first, the remaining teams will be battling it out in hopes of a strong result in order to be invited to the last Tokyo 2020 qualifying tournament to be held early next year.
The participating nations for the 2019 Americas Championship (listed according to IWRF World Rankings) are the United States, Canada, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina and Chile. All games will be webcast live and results will be posted on the event website at www.lima2019.pe.
