USA Women’s Under-20s head coach Ricardo Ramirez selected his match-day roster to face England U20s in the opening game of the Tri-Nations Cup Saturday at 10 AM ET at Loughborough University.
Following England, the USA U20s will face Canada in the final match of the annual international competition on July 24 with Canada facing England on July 28.
Ramirez indicated that “After our scrimmage against Canada and England, the staff was able to see players step into the roles needed for their first match. Players have been pushing both themselves and each other which has allowed us to see the growth in a short period. We’re looking forward to opening the Tri-Nations Cup in a competitive first game.”
England Women U20s head coach Yapp said: “We’ve had short lead into this first game but preparations so far have gone well.
“We have had a good opportunity to do a collaborative session with USA and Canada which the players and staff both took a lot of learnings from.
“The players are now very much looking forward to what we know will be a very physical contest on Saturday.
“We’re delighted to be hosting the Tri-Nations Cup at home this year after a fantastic event in Canada last summer.
“With a number of players out due to injury, this tournament gives several younger players an opportunity to step up.
“It allows players to not only develop on the field but being in camp and having back-to-back games is a fantastic way to prepare players for senior competitions in the future. All the players are looking forward to the challenge.”
