San Diego Legion signed Steffon Armitage for the 2020 season. The 33-year-old back row (34 in September) is 5’9″ and 234 lbs.
Steffon is from San Fernando, Trinidad & Tobago and grew up in the south of France, where he and his brothers played for Rugby Nice Côte d’Azur Université-Racing. He also played youth rugby for Richmond.
Steffon began his professional rugby career in 2004 with the Saracens and signed with the London Irish in 2006 and played with the team until 2011. From 2011-2016 he played for Toulon in the Top 14 and in 2016-2019 with Pau.
On the international level, Steffon played for the English Saxons, winning the Churchill Cup in 2008. He also made five appearances for England between 2009-2011.
The former European Player of the year will play for the San Diego Legion in 2020. He played in over 300 professional games in England and France, while winning 3 European Cup Championships titles. His experience will be invaluable for the Legion.

Armitage will be joining the team at the commencement of pre-season training this December.
