Austin Elite Rugby Adds Sunao Takizawa

Austin Elite Rugby added Sunao Takizawa for the remainder of the 2019 Major League Rugby season. The 32-year-old loosehead prop is 5’7 1/2″ and 254 lbs.

Sunao is from Komaki, Japan and attended Waseda University. While there, the team won league title four times and won Japan Universities Championship in 2007. He also played for the Japan Under-21s and Under 23s.

Sunao played in the Japan Top League for the NEC Green Rockets from 2010-2019 and was the team captain from 2014-2018.

Major League Rugby teams need depth in the front row and Austin Elite Rugby will fulfill this need with the addition of Sunao at loosehead prop. He should be an important contributor right away.
