Old Glory DC Signs Zack Forro

Old Glory DC signed Zack Forro for the 2019 season. The 26-year-old center is 5’10” and 210 lbs.

Zack is from Mentor, Ohio and attended Mentor High School. He played football and was a member of the wrestling team, qualifying for States in the latter. His Senior year he turned to rugby before graduating in 2011. He then spent the Summer 2011 semester at Ohio University.

In 2011 he joined the Ohio Army National Guard 371st Sustainment Brigade as an IT Specialist and was deployed in Kuwait where he played rugby. He also was part of the Human Operations relief efforts associated with Hurricane Harvey.

Zack was selected to the All Army team in 2015, 2017 and in 2018 and was also on the All-Armed Forces team. He played with the Army 7s at the Rugbytown 7s in 2017. He also spent time at the USA Rugby Olympic Training Center at Chula Vista at a 2017 Collegiate All-American Training Camp and was selected as a Collegiate All-American Honorable Mention in 2017.

Zack played club rugby with the Cleveland Crusaders and with Notre Dame College since 2015. He helped the team win the 2017 D1AA National Championship over UC Davis and was a key member of the team when they moved to the D1A Rugby East Conference. In 2017 he also played with the Ohio College All-Stars against the Legacy Rugby Academy Collegiate All-Stars from Michigan. In 2018 he played with the Cleveland Rugby Academy in the USA Club Sevens Nationals.

Expect Zack to provide leadership and to contribute immediately when he plays with Old Glory DC in 2019.
