The sixth and final match of the Cara Cup has the Free Jacks facing Leinster A on Sunday 14th April, 5.00 pm at Harvard Mignone Field, Boston MA. The match should be a sell out with 100 tickets remaining yesterday.
In the first match, the Connacht Eagles defeated the New England Free Jacks 38-7. The second had the Connacht Eagles beating the Ulster Ravens 44-21. In the third match, the New England Free Jacks lost to Ulster A 43-15.
The 4th match featured the New England Free Jacks vs Munster A on Saturday, April 6 at the Irish Cultural Centre GAA Field in Canton, MA. The Free Jacks played a competitive match losing 38-19 to Munster A.
The fifth match featured Irish Provincial A-sides, Leinster defeating Munster 53-49 on Wednesday 10th April at Union Point Sports Complex, South Weymouth MA.
Following the Cara Cup, the New England Free Jacks will host the Toronto Arrows on May 18 at 1 pm ET at the Union Point Sports Complex in South Weymouth, MA. They play Lansdowne on June 1 at 4 pm ET at the Irish Cultural Centre, in Canton, MA and conclude their Spring exhibition season on June 15 at 1 pm against Old Glory DC at Union Point Sports Complex.
New England Free Jacks Head Coach Josh Smith has made two changes in his starters with Quentin Newcomber at tighthead prop and Timothee Guillimin making his debut with the team at inside center. Devin Ibanez and Adnan Kawuma join the roster in the reserves.
The Cara Cup has been an excellent competition had has provided the opportunity to access Free Jacks players as they move forward.
Leinster A jumped out to a first-half lead against Munster A this past Wednesday and saw Munster stage a comeback. Leinster will look for a fast start again, while the Free Jacks will need to defend and use tactical kicking to spend as much time in the Leinster territory as they can.
