Seattle Seawolves Adds Ryan Youngman

The Seattle Seawolves have signed Ryan Youngman for the remainder of the 2019 Major League Rugby season. The 31-year-old tighthead prop is 5’11” and 250 lbs.

Ryan was born in Scotland and played high school rugby for 4 years at Gordonstoun, an independent school. He then went to the University of Washington form 2006-2010, playing rugby and graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Government.

Ryan then enlisted in the U.S. Army and was a Field Artillery Officer from 2010-2011 at Fort Sill in Oklahoma where he played with the Gunners and from 2011-2014 at Fort Drum, NY, where he played for the Barracks Rangers.

After satisfying his active duty commitment, he returned to Seattle in 2014 and joined the Seattle Saracens and has played with the team for the last 5 years in the British Columbia competition. He has had exposure in playing against MLR teams. In 2018 he played for the Seattle Saracens against the Houston SaberCats and in 2019 against the Seattle Seawolves.

Ryan brings technical skill and multi-position ability in the front row to the Seawolves’ forward pack.
