New England Free Jacks Adds Timothee Guillimin

The New England Free Jacks have added Timothée Guillimin to the team for 2019. The 23-year-old flyhalf is 5’10” and 185 lbs. Timothée played with Austin Elite Rugby from 2017- 2019.

Timothée began playing rugby from the age of 6. He has played in the European Challenge Cup game with Agen, as well as the French National U18 and U16 teams. He joined the Austin Huns and helped take them to a national championship in 2017.

Timothée attended high schools College Capouchiné and Lycée Jean Moulin. He also attended college at both UFR STAPS Montpellier and DUT GACO Agen. At 5’10” and 195lbs, he brings considerable rugby IQ to the team with his experience as a flyhalf. Austin Elite Rugby – Timothée Guillimin

When he signed a three-year contract in 2016 with the Austin Huns, he was profiled as “a player of many qualities and massive potential, his international appearances for France are a testament to exceptional abilities as a rugby athlete.  Of the 60,000 teenage rugby players in France, less than 100 are chosen to represent France in their age group international competitions in any given year. Timothee was selected for both the U-16 and U-18 France teams over a period of four years, an exceptional achievement.”

“Adding to his international recognition, Timothee has also played for Montpellier Herault and S.U. Agen.  These clubs are among the top 15 teams in France.  Last season Timothee was selected to play against the London Irish and Edinburg in the European Challenge Cup, an international competition where the top clubs in Italy, Romania, France, Scotland, and England, among other nations, compete against each other.”

General Manager Thierry Daupin discussed his signing in 2017 indicating that “Having Timothee joining us for the next three seasons is an immense privilege for us, we want to show that we are committed to bringing not only the best players but also players that can grow the game in Austin for a long time. Tim is the perfect example of players that believe in the future of Rugby in the USA and can bring a huge amount of experience for our young, and domestic players. We want to create a group that can contribute to creating a strong, developed program in the long term.”

International French legend Philippe Sella said about Timothee:” I recommend Timothee Guillimin as a qualifying international rugby athlete.  He will be an invaluable addition to the Huns Rugby club in Texas and his skill will certainly add to the marketability of the professional rugby development within the U.S.”

In the 2018 MLR season, he was among the top offensive scoring leaders. He was first in penalty goals, second in scoring with 84 points, and third in conversions made. Teams need a player whose kicking prowess makes teams pay for their mistakes and Austin Elite Rugby has that player signed for 2019.
