The New England Free Jacks have signed Bryan Michel for the exhibition season. The 25-year-old flyhalf/fullback is 6’0″ and 195 lbs.
Bryan is from Hamburg, New York and attended Hamburg High School. He attended Stony Brook Unversity from 2012-2017, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Applied Mathematics. At Stony Brook, he played rugby and was the team’s captain. He played on the Liberty All-Stars against the Republic of Texas All-Stars in August 2017 in a match in Bermuda that preceded the Saracens versus the USA Islanders.
Bryan then attended the Unversity of Essex in Colchester, the United Kingdom, where he pursued a Master’s in Science Degree in Biotechnology. He played rugby sevens while there.
Bryan joined the New England Free Jacks in December 2018 and played against Rugby United New York and then in February against the Utah Warriors. He plays club rugby for Buffalo Rugby Club and is playing in the 2019 Empire GU Championship on April 13.
