The Utah Warriors have added Metai Tuimoala for the remainder of the 2019 Major League Rugby season. The 23-year-old hooker is 5’8″ and 255 lbs.
Metaiwas born in Pago Pago, American Samoa, but then moved to Bountiful, Utah. He attended Viewmont High School and played football and rugby for one year. After graduation, he went on an LDS Church mission to San Joes, California.
He returned from the mission in 2016 and joined the Salt Lake City Spartans, and has continued to play rugby with them. Metai is now looking forward to contributing to the Utah Warriors and will likely have that opportunity on Saturday. He has been selected as a reserve for the match against NOLA Gold Rugby.
