The third match of the Cara Cup will feature the New England Free Jacks vs the Ulster Ravens on Sunday, March 24 at Union Point Sports Complex in Weymouth, MA. Kickoff is at 6:30 pm and the match is being broadcast on NESNplus.
In the first match, the Connacht Eagles defeated the New England Free Jacks 38-7. The second had the Connacht Eagles vs Ulster Ravens/
Ulster will return to Ireland and the Free Jacks will wait to face Munster A on April 6 at the Irish Cultural Centre in Canton, MA.
Match Comments
New England Free Jacks Head Coach has made one change in his starters from the match against the Connacht Eagles. Owen Collins replaces Peter Lupton at inside center. There are also three changes in the reserves with Simon Courcoul joining the Free Jacks from Austin Elite Rugby at loosehead prop, Quentin Newcomber at tighthead prop and Ronan McCusker at lock.
Ulster Rugby A coaches Kieran Campbell and Willie Anderson have made five changes in their starters from the match against the Connacht Eagles. Ireland U20 Grand Slam stars Callum Reid and David McCann, at loosehead prop and flanker, respectively gain starts. Corrie Barrett joins them at tighthead prop. Backs changes include Bruce Houston at scrumhalf and Ben McCaughey at wing form the reserves. Jack Owen shifts from wing to fullback, Iwan Hughes from fullback to wing, and Graham Curtis, who scored two tries against Connacht, shifts from wing to scrumhalf.
Ross Kane, tighthead prop Peter Cooper and flyhalf Johnny McPhillips are out with injuries.
