San Diego Legion added Eagles Sevens player Joe Schroeder to the team. The 25-year-old back row is 6’5″ and 230 lbs.
Joe is from Westfield, Indiana and attended Cathedral High School from 2008-2012. He played football and rugby, earning MVP honors in the latter. He then went to Trine University in Angola, Indiana for 2012-2016. He was a member of the cheerleading team and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
Following graduation for Trine, he moved to Columbus, Ohio and was employed as a civil engineer. He returned to play rugby with Scioto Valley (Columbus Rugby) and his rugby sevens skills were noticed at the National level.
Joe played in the Silicon Valley Sevens in 2017 and has played in six HSBC Sevens Series tournaments. Currently, he in residency in Chula Vista, California as a USA Eagles Sevens Athlete.
The San Diego Legion have recently included him on the team. They have been excellent in managing player commitments at the National level while providing high-performance professional opportunities.
