The New England Free Jacks are building a team for their 2019 exhibition season that combines veteran experience and youth. Dan Jones is a 36-year-old veteran No.8 who is 6’1″ and 220 lbs.
Dan went to Greenwich High School and played rugby. The team participated in the national championship tournament for 3 of the 4 years while he was in high school. A highlight was playing in the 1999 National Championship Final against Jesuit, although the team lost. The team won state championships and set the tone for years to come for the program.
Dan then attended Plymouth State University, graduating in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication with a minor in English. He played rugby there and then continued with the Boston Irish Wolfhounds in the USA Rugby Super League, the American Premiership, and in Division 1.
Dan is a business owner of a CrossFit and enjoys the sport in which he has invested so much time. He played with the New England Free Jacks during the 2018 exhibition season against Rugby United New York and in 2019 will be a role player with the team and his leadership will be invaluable.
