New England Free Jacks Dolph Botha

The New England Free Jacks added Dolph Botha for the 2019 exhibition season. The 26-year-old prop is 6’0″ and 290 lbs.

Dolph played with the San Diego Legion during the 2018Major League Rugby season. He is from Bloemfontein, Free State, South Africa and attended Gray College. He then attended the University of the Free State.

Dolph played representative rugby with the Free State Cheetahs. He played for the Under-16s in Grant Khomo Week in 2009, for the Under-18s in 2010 and in 2011, in the Under-19s Provincial Championships in 2011 and 2012, and for the Under-21s in the Provincial Championships in 2013. In 2014 he played in the Varsity Cup for the UFS Shimlas and in the 2014 Provincial Championships. He was selected for the Currie Cup Premier Division in 2013 but needed to wait to 2014 to play. He played for the Eastern Province Kings in the Currie Cup. He made his debut with the Super Rugby Cheetahs in 2015. In 2016 and in 2017, injuries prevented him from playing and he returned in 2018 to play with the San Diego Legion.

Dolph is a great addition for the New England Free jacks in the front row and his experience will be essential as the team plays in the Cara Cup.
