The Houston SaberCats and West Houston Lions have shared Liam Andrew in 2018 and in 2019. The 32-year-old hooker is 5’11” and 250lbs.
Liam is from Cape Town, South Africa and attended Parkway North until graduating in 2005. He played rugby for De Smet Jesuit from 2003-2005. He then attended Lindenwood University from 2005-2010 and played football. While at Lindenwood, he also played rugby for the St.Louis Royals from 2008-2010. In 2010 the team played in the USA Club Rugby National Final. He also played for the Missouri under-19s All-Stars.
Following his graduation from Lindenwood, he returned to South Africa and attended the Stellenbosch Rugby Academy 2010-2012. He played with the Helderberg Rugby club, for the Dubai Exiles 2012-2018, Stoke Rugby Club (Tasman, NZ) in 2016, Villager Football Club 2017 (Cape Town, South Africa) and then moved back to the United States to play with the West Houston Lions in 2018-19 and SAberCats Academy in 2019. He has played in all preseason 2018-2019 matches for the SaberCats and is available as needed for Houston during the 2019 MLR season.
