USA Rugby South Names Zach Miller U23 Head Coach

USA Rugby South Release

USA Rugby South Men’s 15’s program is pleased to announce Zach Miller has been appointed the head coach for the newly formed USARS U-23 men’s squad that will be competing in the elite division of the Savannah tournament next month.

Coach Miller came through the Life University rugby program where he played for 3 national 15’s championships and has been coached by some of the top US rugby coaching names including Jason Payne, Tui Osborne, Paul Emerick, Salty Thomson, Paul Barford, Scott Lawrence, and Alex Magleby.

In addition to his extensive playing resume at Life U Zach also made 3 national 7’s appearances for Life U and 3 men’s national 7’s appearances for Atlanta Old White, Washington DC and NOLA.

Zach has been playing for the current USARS men’s 15’s side for 2 years and just came off a successful 15’s tour of Central Europe this summer. Zach is currently the men’s and women’s head coach at Southern Pines in NC.

Current 15’s men’s head coach, Rene Daniel, said the U-23 team will provide an important link between the U-19 program and current men’s program. Talented players in or out of college and the military will be able to build experience at a higher level. Our goal at USARS is also to provide young American coaches the opportunity to gain experience with a select side. Zach will be a nice fit for the U-23 program.
