Rugby United New York added Jamal Hadley for the 2019 Major League Rugby season. The 25-year-old loosehead prop is 6’0″ and 260 lbs.
Jamal is from Augusta, Georgia and attended Lakeside High School. He played football as a defensive tackle and graduated in 2011. He then attended American International College from 2011-2016, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in English with a minor in Communications.
While at AIC, he played both rugby 15s and 7s. Since graduating, he has played with Old Blue. He also has played with Augusta Rugby Club and played representative rugby for the USA Rugby South Panthers in the 2018 RAN Championship and in the Central Europe tour of Hungary, Austria, and the Czech Republic.
With Major League Rugby expanding to a 16 match season, a team needs multiple props. Expect Jamal to develop through practicing with the team, as well as match action during the season.
