Utah Warriors Re-Signs Joseph Nicholls

The Utah Warriors have kept a core group of players intact from the 2018 Major league Rugby season. Joseph Nicholls is a 27-year-old scrumhalf from Harare, Zimbabwe, who is 6’o” and 170 lbs.

Joseph is the youngest of 3 boys and his oldest brother Ben played last year for the Warriors and is a coach this year with the Warriors Selects. Joseph’s father Alex Nicholls played in two Rugby World Cups, and his brothers both playing in the under 20s World Cup for Zimbabwe.

Joseph came to Utah in 2010 and attended BYU and started on the rugby team as a true freshman. He then served on an LDS mission in Ogden and Idaho from 2011 through 2013. He then returned to BYU, where he met his wife Megan and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction management. He played rugby at BYU in 2011, on the 2014 and 2015 National Championship teams, and in 2016.

Joseph played two seasons with the Rugby Utah Selects 7s team and won two club National Championships in 2016 and in 2017. In 2017 he also played for Rugby Utah in the Premier Division Selects and club rugby for Park City Haggis.
