Utah Warriors Re-Signs Don Pati

Don Pati played with the Utah Warriors in the inaugural Major League Rugby season and returns for 2019. The 28-year-old fullback is 5’7″ and 195 lbs.

Don was born and raised in Apia, Samoa and moved to Utah in 2004. Don attended Hunter High School and after boosting his language proficiency through ESL classes, graduated and then attended the University of Utah, after he received the USA Rugby Foundation Advanced Player Grant in 2009. He toured with the USA Selects to Canada in 2009.

Don was selected to the USA Rugby Under-20s and played against the University of New Zealand and also in Argentina. He played in the inaugural Collegiate Rugby Championship, helping Utah to win the championship, and was selected to the All-Tournament team. Unfortunately, he tore a rotator cuff and was not able to tour with the 2010 Collegiate All-Americans.

Don was the first person from his family to graduate from College. He continued to play rugby with San Francisco Golden Gate Rugby Club, with Tiger Rugby, Park City Haggis, and with the Rugby Utah Selects Sevens, winning National Club 7s titles with the Selects in 2016 and in 2017.

In 2014 Don continued his rise in age-grade rugby playing for the USA Falcons at the Rugbytown 7s. In 2016 he was part of the Dubai Sevens 13-man squad.

Don is married to his wife Tracy and has a daughter Kathy.
